The fish plate for 2 people is highly recommended. Really a delicious alternative to meat and also very well priced.

We were pleasantly surprised! Food was delicious, there was also something vegetarian. The service was very nice and the food wasn't long in coming. Negative reviews are absolutely incomprehensible.

We were at Kapt'N Hook Essen on October 23, 2020. After waiting a little over an hour, the hot meal came. The portion was very well arranged and the taste was rather unspectacular. For the price we would have expected more. The girls from the service were always friendly and tried hard. I think that this restaurant only lives from the constantly changing guests. We will not eat there again on our next North Sea vacation. Three stars for food and service are more than fair.

I had the Pizza Inferno, with this it was extra hot in brackets, so I assumed it would be at least partially hot. The Inferno Pizza is more like a salami pizza. We were allowed to wait about 70 minutes for food. The 3 stars are for the low prices and the delicious ice cream afterwards.

Service extremely friendly. There were four of us here and each one ate something different. Everyone was happy. OK, the prices, that's why a star deduction.

Food was very good as it was two years ago. Service polite and courteous, Get a quiet corner with our dogs like back then ... we'll be back

We had ordered the "Admirals Platte" and were alone in the front area and still the condition passed us and then came back and asked if we had implemented? I still do not know what was involved? Then she passed us with the meal and then came back as if she had heavy seas under her feet, the sparkler that probably belongs to it had already burned down .... NOT TO BE RECOMMENDED !! I would also give ZERO stars, but unfortunately that is not possible and your answer as the owner only shows your level! But the food was really delicious but I only know that a cloth is delivered with mussels or shrimp to clean your hands, but unfortunately that was also missing! So dear owner what's wrong with you?

There were three of us eating there and the meals were all delicious. The waiting time and the friendliness of the staff were also good. What I think is a shame, it's not really nice to sit inside. The tables and the dishes could also be nicely arranged. The food is definitely recommended! I have rarely had such delicious fried potatoes as a side dish in the restaurant =)

We had 2 dishes with turkey. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend that there. Very poor quality meat, hardly seasoned and also much too dry. There is also savings here with side dishes. At least what we were served to eat can be better eaten at any snack bar. The quality there was really an absolute cheek for the price.

Delicious meal. Unfortunately, despite our prior reservation, we were put outside, which was a bit cold in the evening. And unfortunately the pizza was already quite cold when it got to me. Then we dared a second time and the food was very tasty and hot. The ice cream is also highly recommended!

We went to Captain Hook several times during our stay. Service, food and drink were always good and the prices reasonable. The selection is wide, the quality of the dishes we chose was always right. Twice our telephone reservation could not be found, but was not a problem for the service staff. We were always welcomed in a friendly manner and were given a table.

At first glance, the restaurant makes a nice and neat impression. We reserved a table for 7pm When we ordered drinks, we wanted to order some food at the same time, but according to the waitress this is not yet possible. She says the kitchen is not ready yet 🤷‍♂️ Well, after a while we were able to order food, after an hour we still got no food, and when we asked, we were only given bad excuses. That evening not only other tables were affected as well. At first we thought it was a coincidence. According to our research, this is probably a course method. The advantage of such a restaurant is the pass-through clientele, so incompetent things don't get around quickly. The restaurant may look good from the outside but the staff ... It is absolutely not recommended

Very nice restaurant, the service is very friendly, even when dealing with small children. The selection of dishes is large and there is guaranteed to be something for children ... The prices are okay ... There are not only normal dishes but also an ice cream menu ... The ice cream is also quite good to eat

We were in Captain Hook twice and made identical observations on both occasions. There is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to portion sizes. At least as far as the side dishes are concerned, it is outrageously little. Three fish fillets ok but a handful of fried potatoes or french fries is well ... not ok. The day before there was pikeperch wrapped in bacon. Side dish was also very manageable. In the picture you can still see the few french fries from across the street. Price performance not good in this case. Taste .... It wasn't bad, but we ate better. Why only two stars now? For a "record" that costs € 15.50, I expect to be full. The comparison with other pictures of the reviewers shows how the amount saved. That costs two stars. Then one expects friendly staff even with the stress in such a restaurant. They just tried to appear friendly. Shaking your head because of extra requests and complaints before you could even sit down ... NO GO! This also applies to waiting 60 minutes without asking the guest for patience or apologizing. Overall, the comparison of ratings with the other restaurants in town fits.

Unfortunately, my daughter would not have asked for a dressing on her salad, she brings it after 15 minutes, said she forgot, when asked how long spaghetti would last, the same waitress said I also ask that she forgot. It was cold because the door was opened all the time. That it was ok but unfortunately not enough for the price. Okay in taste. Pizza much too thin dough. And comfort is zero

We ate in the restaurant once and ordered pizza once. Staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is child-friendly and has a very good location. You don't do yourself any good with the card. Too much choice and that is unfortunately also reflected in the quality of the dishes. The meat dishes were all dead very dry (probably fried too long or defrosted too quickly), which was a shame because they tasted delicious. The fish dishes were okay, but I don't have to go to a coastal restaurant for that, I get that in southern Germany too. With an Italian pizza, the topping is visible and not under the cheese, which would also make it crispy. Tip less choice increases the quality and then it also fits the required price!

We had a delicious meal there today. Good selection .. good prices and very friendly service. I can really recommend it!

We have been to Captain Hook several times in our North Sea vacation. The food was very good and everyone in the family enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and fun. Our reservations always worked. We found the waiting times for the food to be very short. There is also delicious ice cream there. We'd love to come back next year.

Very good food, everything freshly made. A corresponding waiting time (40 minutes for 6 people) is absolutely appropriate and worthwhile. Atmospherically it could be a little better. We would definitely recommend it because of the quality!

Food went so I ate really better food. Fried potatoes mega salty. Then there was spaghetti instead of boiled ham and bacon, also super salty. And for 4 drinks and two meals, 44 euros, thank you, once and never again. I expect more.

We came here three times during our holiday in Tossens. 1 time for ice, 1 time for lunch and 1 time for dinner + ice. All times very good experience! Very nice ice creams and food, the staff is really nice to kids, this is a recommendation if you are here!

Do not (!) consider to come here. We went for meals with fish (overly salted, burnt), French fries (made in old oil) and pasta (overcooked). Overall, it was astonishingly bad - particularly because each meal costs more than 13 EUR. Hence, by far overpriced and hardly digestible. Only bright side: service was decent (however they should think about smoking somewhere else instead of the main entrance)

Very delicious especially the mushrooms but most of it was convinience.

Outstanding food, but cash only.

The food was truly amazing, but beware the restaurant does not accept EC cards and there are no signs advising of this. I find this very poor service in a day and age when cash is much less used.
